Melismatic Music,
established in Jan 2017 by Maya Stempien (head teacher and director) was created to help musicians of all ages and abilities express their passion and learn to sing and play piano.
​
Maya is a highly experienced musician with a vast amount of knowledge on vocals, piano, song writing, recording, stage presence and all things music. She has performed in musical theatres, bands and small festivals around Australia and internationally and is currently performing at weddings all over Sydney as a duo 'Maya & David Duet'. She was classically trained from the age of 12 and has completed her AMEB exams featuring an A+ in Advanced Contemporary Singing.

Maya has completed a Diploma of Music and writes and produces her own rnb / pop music available on Spotify, Apple Music and all streaming platforms under the name 'Maya Flora'.
She actively conducts choirs with the NSW Federation of Community Language Schools Inc. and works well with kids.
​
Maya welcomes all students whether they'd be learning to perform live professionally/ recording or simply for leisure. She can help you reach your music goals and guide you in the right direction working with all genres.

David Miller,
our substitute teacher and MC is a highly skilled musician with in depth knowledge and experience on instruments like acoustic and electric guitar, vocals and piano. He spends his weekends performing as a soloist, duet and band at weddings, small festivals, private functions, bars and restaurants and writes his own music.
David is great with kids and also works in "Outloud" at Bankstown Arts Centre, an organisation that mentors young individuals and groups pursuing arts and cultural activities at local schools.
He is a wonderful teacher here at Melismatic Vocals and is ready to help you learn music.
